JRC onboard Icelandic vessel
Icelandic boatbuilder Trefjar handed over its flagship delivery at the end of 2009 with this new 15 meter longliner for owners in Norway. JRC Europe's distributor in Iceland, Sonar, supplied and installed all navigation, fish finding and communication equipment. The ASTA B is the biggest and best equipped fiber plastic boat ever build in Iceland.
This boat has a more advanced communication equipment package onboard than usually installed on a 15 meter long liner boat, because the crew will go for fishing as far as 200 NM north of Norway.
Asta B's wheelhouse has two skipper's chairs facing a commprehensive array of electronics. This packages comprises the JFC-130 echo sounder, JMA-5206-4 radar, JLN-628 Doppler current meter, JLR-7500 GPS navigator and JLR-20 GPS compass.
The extensive communications package is of a high enough standard to allow Asta B to operate in international Area 3 water if required. JRC's JSS-2150 150 watt MF/HF and JHS-770S VHF radio telephone can also be found onboard. There is a JUE-85 GMDSS Inmarsat C system as well as the JHS-182 Class A AIS unit and the JRC NCR-333 navtex.
