It just got simpler
As times change and new technologies are introduced at an ever increasing pace, maritime communication and navigation equipment have also become more sophisticated. Monitoring all of this equipment causes a greater burden on the crew.
JRC's existing VDR technology can be used to cost-effectively monitor performance and functionality of your onboard equipment while at sea, significantly reducing downtime and maintenance costs. JRC accredited technicians can remotely link to the equipment onboard the vessel to inspect, analyze, resolve or determine what actions are necessary at the vessels next port in order to quickly return the equipment to a full operational status.

For new builds, the VDR JCY-1800 has a remote maintenance server integrated as standard, for retrofit applications, RMS is optionally available for the S-VDR JCY-1850. When connected, to either the Fleet 77 JUE-410 or FleetBroadband JUE-5001 terminal, the remote maintenance server can be remotely accessed by JRC accredited technicians via a shore based remote Inmarsat link. Whereafter they can monitor performance and functionality of onboard equipment.

Maintaining the navigation schedule
The Remote Maintenance System can accurately diagnose the malfunctions while the ship is at sea, which allows time for preparations at the next port for the necessary repair work, dramatically increasing the completion rate of repairs with one stop.
Reduction of maintenance costs
The ability to remotely diagnose the malfunction from land increases the completion rate of repairs at the first port and reduces the number of times the engineers have to board the ship. In addition, if parts do not need to be replaced, the engineers may complete the repair work without ever boarding the ship.
Taking preventive measures
Information including the latest equipment data and past history is stored on the maintenance server, and by periodically examining that information, malfunctions can now be prevented before they occur. This information is also helpful for replenishing consumable goods and for preliminary inspections prior to safety survey.
